Kitchen Bin

posted in Recycling Tips |

The kitchen is the heart of the home, so you’ll want it to look its best with everything coordinated-wallpapers, tile, appliances and, if possible, a kitchen bin. Most women spend a large percentage of their day in the kitchen, so it’s important to make it a room that’s comfortable as well as efficient. There are numerous different styles of appliances such as refrigerators, cookers and dishwashers on the market today. When choosing major appliances, most families look for something that is economical as well as meeting the needs of the family. New appliances will all have energy-efficient tags on them showing you their average cost per year to operate. This is very useful information when purchasing major appliances.

Any women will tell you no matter how large their kitchen is there is never enough cupboard space or space for storage. An item that is being used in many kitchens today is a kitchen bin. There are many different styles and sizes to fit your kitchen and your individual needs. Many of them are able to fit under your cupboard so they are hidden and out of the way, yet still in a handy location. With the importance of recycling becoming a topic of daily conversation, many women have a kitchen compost bin.

The kitchen compost bin can be an individual bin with a handle that stands alone in your kitchen or it can be made to fit under your cupboard so it is not visible. Many families are making their own compost for gardening, and the ingredients come right from their kitchen. Many items such as vegetable peelings, vegetable juices, coffee grounds and similar ingredients are dumped in the compost bin until it’s full at which time it is dumped in the garden area. These types of items make excellent fertilizer, helping you to have a very healthy and productive garden. Not only are you making use of the waste materials by recycling them, but also you are saving money on garden fertilizer.

In spite of the health issues, there are still some smokers left, but that doesn’t mean your home needs to smell like cigarettes. Many women have a small kitchen bin hidden away just for cigarette butts. It keeps them out of public view and manages to hide the ashtray smell. Other uses for a kitchen bin are for storage of staple goods like flour or potatoes, onions, etc. The bins are conveniently tucked away under the cupboard and pull out for easy access. Some even come in the traditional lazy Susan style. They now come in different colours so matching them to your kitchen décor should be simple. Those that are not hidden under the cupboard can be decorated to match your kitchen.

Many women purchase decorative stickers to put on their kitchen bins. Some are accessorized to match appliances, canisters or wallpaper. If you are creative, you may want to do your own decorating by painting designs or applying decoupage designs. Whether you used your kitchen bin as extra storage space or a kitchen compost bin, you can have great fun making it look like it is part of your kitchen.
